This is a guest post from my friend, Miriam Olszewski, who is not only one of the best photographers I know, but also moving to Europe with me around the same time this fall, which will no doubt be awesome, and full of both exciting art ventures, and adventures. Germany is the first of a four part series of photo essays of Miriam’s travels throughout Europe over the years.
No 1.
The Monopteros at the Englischer Garten in Munich, Germany. Used to see this little temple in old photos of my parents, it felt amazing also being there and people watching.
No 2.
German Mcdonald’s, just kidding. The area I was born in and wanted to document it.
No 3.
Taking the U-Bahn from Fröttmaning Station. We had just visited the Allianz Arena, where I saw Michael Ballack..on a wall..

Flowers blooming in May outside of Schloss Nymphenburg/The Nymphenburg Palace.

I sort of got really excited about the pink phone. This one though not seen here was splattered in red “paint”.
No. 6
A long walk to and around Olympiapark München. This was inside the Olympiastadion. We saw that people could actually take a tour and walk on top of the glass fixture.
No. 7
Outside of the Schloss Nymphenburg/The Nymphenburg Palace, a fancy bicycle. Not the same bicycle we almost got run over by, the man fell off and his briefcase opened and all his papers flew out. We tried really hard to say things in German but I don’t think we got anywhere.

A walk around München. Lot’s of beer.
No. 9
The central square, Marienplatz. This was the New Town Hall, Neues Rathaus. Beautiful architecture.
No. 10
A walk towards the Olympiaturm. Around 291m and a wonderful view of the city.
