Goodbye 2015, Hello 2016!

This year went by so fast, it’s unbelievable. In a few hours it’ll be 2016 and with that comes a lot of exciting changes – like a move to New York City! While it’s sad to say goodbye to my European life, I’m super excited for this new chapter of my life in the city that never sleeps.

Here’s to an exciting upcoming year filled with new career ambitions, living amongst the world’s best in everything, and of course as equally important – Alexander Wang sample sales.

Before we talk more about 2016, 2015 has been an exciting, action-packed year for sure. Here’s a recap of some of my favourite memories!

January – Me and Yann’s Munich apartment
It was nice to finally have a place together in the city, despite having to live in Bavaria. The apartment was so modern looking and perfect for us until my move to the Netherlands.

February – Trip To Dublin and the Cliffs of Moher
Me, Miriam and Tania in Ireland. Dublin was so fun, especially our night out to the Temple Bar and the people there are insanely friendly. The stormy February weather at the Cliffs of Moher gave it the perfect eerily surreal experience I was hoping for.

April – There’s no better way of celebrating a birthday than a trip to Paris
…and a bit of Givenchy.

You can never have too much Givenchy.

April and August- Falling in love with Paris – twice!
Paris never gets old and if I ever learn French, I’d move there in a heartbeat.

Me and the bf went in April and our trip was filled with impressionist art and indulging in Ladurée. In August, we met up with my friend Leana and enjoyed Parisian food, more impressionist art and a day trip to Monet’s garden in Giverny under the summer sun.

I love how from the Netherlands, Paris is only 3 hours away by train. Two of my favourite places in Europe connected by a lovely train ride through Belgium. I miss my European life already!

May – Going Dutch!
Moving to the Netherlands helped me to really fall in love with Europe. It was there I got to really live my European dream life of fashion and culture that doesn’t exist in Germany. The people are so lovely there and laid back.

It was also the month I started my dream internship at Nike and met lots of amazing people and discovered exactly what I want to do in life. I’ve also become somewhat of a sneakerhead as a result.

August – Rae Sremmurd at the Encore Festival in Amsterdam
Hip hop + Amsterdam. Doesn’t get much better than that!

November – The perfect trip to Greece with a stop in Milan on the way home

December – Preparing for the Canadian cold with a layover in Iceland
And while I generally enjoy my travels to be filled with plentiful beach options, I was quite surprised how much I liked Reykjavik, even with the three hours of sun they got during the winter!

On the way back to Canada, I bought a random book at the airport and now I’ve developed a weird obsession with Iceland crime thrillers.

Now that I’m back in Canada with my boyfriend, the past couple weeks have been a blur of family, friends and festive activities. 2015 has been pretty epic, and I know 2016 will bring even more adventures – new exciting travel plans, the release of my e-book, a big move to New York City, and who knows what else awaits…bring it, 2016!

Happy new year everyone!

What are you most excited for in 2016?
