However, there are certain ways that you can do to make your commute to the airport cheap and affordable. We discuss the prices you will have to pay for the cab and Uber rides when going to airports in Australia, and of course, the most affordable options.
Taxi fare from the City Business District Airport to the Melbourne Airport: Around 50 AUD
Skybus: 18 AUD
Uber: 39 – 51 AUD
If you are not in a hurry and you have extra time to spare, then try taking a Craigieburn line train from any of the stations on the CBD. Get off at Broadmeadows and walk out of the station all the way to the bus bays and board the route 901 bus going to the Melbourne airport. The cost in total? 6.06 AUD during the weekdays, and 6 AUD during the weekends.

If you’re looking to save some bucks, then try this option: catch the train from the Brisbane Central Station to Toombul, along the Shorncliffe and Caboolture lines. You will find yourself at the bus interchange. From there,ride the route 590 bus going to Garden City. All you have to spend is a total of 7.20 or 4.91 AUD using a Translink Go card. The Adelaide airport is just 5 minutes away from the Adelaide CBD. If you are fond of walking, you can take a walk from the CBD to the airport in just one hour. However, if you are in a hurry and you have tons of stuff in hand, you can hop on Adelaide’s Metro J1 and J2 bus routes. They pass by several stops including the south side of Grenfell and Currie Streets in the CBD. This option will only cost you around 3 – 5 AUD, which is a very great deal!

Airport Train: 16.40 AUD
Uber: Around 25 – 34 AUD
For a cheaper commute, hop on the Eastern Suburbs and Illawarra line train from Central, Townhall, or the Martin Place station. Hop off at the Bondi Junction and from there, take a route 400 bus going to Burwood. These buses usually pass by the Domestic and International Sydney Airports. If you take this option, you will only spend about 8.40 AUD.
